The next stage of the project “Smart Energy”, which started in March, was carried out at Uzhhorod National University. The aim of the project is to increase the level of usage of modern technologies and innovations in the field of renewable energy. That is an international project between Ukraine and Romania to support research and innovation in a sustainable way in border regions.12 students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology already have attended the first lecture on energy audit.

Myroslava LENDEL — Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and Research and International Relations of Uzhhorod National University.

"The teachers staff of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology will tell students about the theoretical foundations of energy management and energy audit. Further on, the expert chosen within the project will conduct practical trainings on energy audit of buildings. We will perform an energy audit of the Faculty of Biology, the building of the old rector's office and one of the dormitories of our university."

There were also several round tables with Romanian partners online, at which teaching methods were developed for students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

Anatoliy HYCHKA – a chief electrician of Uzhhorod National University

“Actually we made a big step, that is a chance and a great prospect for the university, because thanks to this grant work we were able to conduct an energy audit of 3 buildings, which have already been approved by the project manager. This gives us the opportunity to conduct an energy audit and as a result to attract foreign funds for the repair and modernization of equipment that consumes energy resources."

This month the project will host an online roundtable with the participation of scientists and experts working in the field of resource management and will be able to talk about the experience and best practices of energy use in Transcarpathia.
